MogForge guides

Plan a transmog with less guesswork

MogForge is built around a simple idea: begin with the look you want, then narrow the World of Warcraft appearance catalogue until the remaining pieces fit your character, palette, and preferred sources. These guides explain the actual tools, their limits, and a repeatable way to turn one interesting item into a complete outfit.

What the guides can—and cannot—tell you

The catalogue groups items by visual appearance, so several item names can point to the same look. Source records come from available game data plus reviewed corrections, while colors are measured from rendered images. That makes MogForge useful for discovery and planning, but it does not turn incomplete game data into certainty. Before spending gold, currency, or time farming an appearance, open the item and verify the acquisition details in the current game client.

The 3D viewer is also a planning aid. Character geometry, animations, special effects, lighting, and newly released customization data can render differently in a browser. A small mismatch does not necessarily mean the item ID is wrong. The relevant guide explains what to check and when to send a data report.

No addon or account is required for the core workflow. You can search, build, preview, export, and create an unlisted share link as a guest. An account is only needed for saved outfits, Community gallery posts, and voting.

A useful learning order

  1. Read the getting-started guide while building a small three-piece outfit.
  2. Use the color guide to understand why a visually related item may still fall outside a strict filter.
  3. Add one source constraint at a time, rather than stacking every filter before seeing any results.
  4. Open the recommendation guide once the outfit has two or three reliable color anchors.
  5. Finish with the export and sharing guide so the result can be checked in the in-game Dressing Room.
