From plan to result

Export, save, and share an outfit

You can use MogForge without an account, move a compatible outfit into World of Warcraft, or create a permanent link that another player can inspect and remix. Accounts add private saving and Community participation rather than unlocking the core planner.

Export to the in-game Dressing Room

Open Export & share from the Transmog panel and copy the generated Dressing Room command. Paste it into World of Warcraft chat. The command asks the game client to open its native preview with the referenced appearances; it does not equip the items, buy anything, spend gold, or unlock appearances you do not own.

The native preview is the final accuracy check because it uses the current game client, its lighting, animations, attachment rules, and your live character context. If one slot is missing, first confirm that the selected class and weapon configuration can use it and that the appearance exists in your client version.

Plan outside the game, confirm inside it. MogForge is designed to shorten discovery and comparison. The Dressing Room tells you how the current client actually renders the result.

Create a permanent share link

A shared outfit receives its own MogForge URL. The link records the selected appearances and relevant character setup so another player can open the same plan. They can rotate the model, inspect the slots, follow item details, and remix the outfit without changing your original.

Creating a basic unlisted share link does not require an account. Treat the URL as accessible to anyone who receives it: unlisted means it is not automatically a public gallery submission, not that it is protected by a password. Avoid putting private information in an outfit name or description.

Save privately with an account

Signing in lets you keep outfits in your Account area and return to them from another browser session. Account access is also used to protect actions that would otherwise attract spam, such as gallery publishing and voting. Catalogue search, color filters, character preview, recommendations, exporting, and ordinary share links remain usable without registration.

A saved outfit and a Community post are separate choices. Saving gives you a personal record. Publishing makes the outfit discoverable in the gallery and associates it with the public information shown for that post. You can therefore keep unfinished experiments out of the Community while retaining them in your account.

Publish something useful to the Community

  1. Verify the complete outfit in both the browser model and the in-game Dressing Room.
  2. Choose a title that describes the idea rather than a string of search keywords.
  3. Check the selected race and class if they are important to the silhouette or equipment rules.
  4. Publish only the intended version; keep rough alternatives as private saves or unlisted links.
  5. Use the gallery filters to confirm the post appears where another player would reasonably expect it.

Gallery visitors can filter outfits and search for posts containing a particular item. Accurate slot and appearance data therefore help other players discover a practical use for a piece they already like.

Share a search instead of an outfit

The catalogue stores supported filter choices in the page URL. Copy search link is useful when you want to send a reproducible research starting point: for example, plate shoulders from one expansion with PvP excluded and two target colors selected. The recipient sees the query rather than a finished transmog and can refine it independently.

Use an outfit link when the slot choices matter. Use a search link when the method or candidate pool matters. This distinction keeps shared links understandable and makes feedback easier to reproduce.

Cross-armor beta exports

MogForge can preserve and share an outfit created with the optional 12.2.5 cross-armor beta mode. A current game client may not accept that mixed armor plan before the announced feature is available, and the final implementation can still affect compatibility or export behavior. Keep the link as a future-facing plan and verify it again after the relevant game update.

If a link or command does not reproduce the outfit

Check whether the page was created before a catalogue correction, whether the game client supports the selected armor combination, and whether an item was replaced by another record sharing the same appearance. Report the share URL and the affected slot through the site feedback tool. That gives enough context to distinguish a bad appearance mapping from a viewer or export problem.
